Not a lot of information about this machine out there so I wanted to leave a detailed review. I hope this is helpful information if you are on the fence about buying this machine verses a more established brand.I am not a coffee snob, or an espresso expert, but I am also not completely ignorant to the subject.what I am looking for in my espresso is a shot that pours appropriately, not to fast or slow, with good crema, and not too bitter too sour, or too thin. My review of this machine is based on its ability to deliver that consistently and competently.I have used a Gaggia Classic in the past but never had a fancy grinder to go with it, so I wanted to upgrade to a machine with a built in grinder (previously used a hand grinder or a preground espresso through a pressurized basket with the gaggia to OK results). I was initially skeptical but optimistic about this machine, given its cost compared to the Breville barista express, which I was also considering. I decided to take a gamble on this machine when the price dropped to $489, since it came with all the extras I needed to get started, and reasoning that if it was garbage I could always return it. I was concerned that maybe all the extras that come with the machine, such as the tamp, steaming cup, shot glasses and apron, were efforts to make up for a subpar quality machine by including free bells and whistles. but so far this does not seem to be the case.I have been using the machine regularly for about a week now and after a few hiccups, and ironing out user error on my part, I am consistently getting good espresso shots and my initial skepticism is resolved. This is a fine machine capable of delivering everything I want from it. The built in grinder is a huge quality of life improvement for me. It is fast and seems to deliver consistent grinds so far, yielding good shots with great crema. The grind times are preset, but I believe you can mess with the settings to customize the times or manually start and stop if you want to get fancy and play with your doses. As far as the grind settings, you can adjust the grind size by turning the bean hopper along a scale from 1-30 demarcated on the hopper itself. there are physical clicks to be felt when turning the hopper as you adjust size, but they are not audible and not sharp/smooth enough to be able to easily and confidently adjust by one click, with out kind of overshooting and then correcting. it does not nicely click into place with a small turn. If anything feels cheap about the machine it is this aspect of the grinder; However, I don’t really care, as it seems that settings between the 10-15 marks typically deliver a grind that is suitable for producing a quality espresso shot. when you pull the shot at these grinds you usually get the pressure gauge on the machine into the “espresso zone” which has corresponded with the quality of the shot. If you are pulling outside the zone, you can easily adjust within the 10-15 range to get a better shot. beyond this, I am not concerned with dialing in the perfect espresso shot with endless levels of small precise adjustments, and this grinder so far seems perfectly suited to my needs. The espresso machine itself seems perfectly capable of consistently delivering temperatures and pressures suitable for espresso shots. it has been as good, if not bettter than my experience with the Gaggia, though to be fair i did not have a grinder. Extraction temperatures are adjustable but the volume of water for single and double shots seems to be fixed as far as I can tell. which is fine by me. This is in contrast to the Gaggia which you had to manually turn of the flow when you feel the shot is done extracting, which maybe is a feature afficionados like, but I don’t care. The steam wand works fine, takes about 15 seconds before it starts delivering good steam and is capable of getting great milk texture suitable for latte art or cappuccinos or whatever textures you want in about a minute or less. no complaints there. One problem I ran into, after maybe 15 -20 grind cycles, possibly more, I started getting smaller doses from the machine, and realized the grinder was getting clogged up, with fine grounds. at first I thought this was a problem or a defect, but then I realized that hidden in the base of the machine next to drip tray is a cleaning kit with a wire bristle brush that you are supposed to use to clean excess grinds out of the bottom of the grinder. I use that after every few uses now. the grinder is easy to take apart and clean out (though you will need to remove the hopper and beans, and maybe use a vacuum hose to get any left over beans and grinds out).As for the extras I was worried were just cheap add ons, they are all great! the tamp is solid and good weight and feel. None of the extras feel particularly cheap and they all look great, even the apron. have not used the tamping mat, or really understand what its for, but nice to throw that in. mine even came with some Cyetus branded fridge magnets which was a nice touch. Comes with everything you need to get started and is a MAJOR value added, would cost probably an additional $60-120 depending on what you buy to get all these peripherals that are not included with major brands like the Breville Barista express. Also uses a full size 58mm porta filter unlike the 54mm on the breville, which is a thing that purists seem to care about. One other thing before you start, be sure to remove the rubber plug at the base of the water intake. made me think the machine was completely bricked out of the box before I realized. silly mistake, but im probably not the only one who will make it, I hope.bottom line: so far this machine met or exceeded all of my expectations for it, delivers quality espresso and lattes consistently, and has proven to be much more than a total piece of junk, or cheap imitation like I initially expected it might be. Do not be dissuaded by the price compared to other similar machines into thinking it is not worth it. I’m even considering buying another as a gift for my family. The true test of quality will be its longevity. but right now I’m hopeful and excited to see if it stands the test of time. If it craps out on me, I will report back here.

Machine arrived. I set it up per the guide book and activated the machine. The coffee grind worked as it should but very little coffee was dispensed. A number of attempts on volume of coffee were made until FINALLY an acceptable level was reached. (I noticed this morning that the volume of coffee was, again, insufficient. It seems I will have to adjust the grind volume again!)I attached the Porta filter, pressed the 2 cup selection and no water came out. There was nothing in the guidebook about this issue.I continued making attempts, assuming that the pump had lost its prime. FINALLY, after an hour of work and nearly 100 attempts the water flowed as it should. This was the second of many frustrations with this machine. If you do not tamp the coffee with EXACTLY 12.5kg of pressure, 1 of 2 things will happen. Lighter pressure will result in watery coffee. Any amout more than 12.5kg will result in the pressure gauge climbing to the red zone and the machine’s pump will stop in 15 seconds, leaving far short of the correct shot size. (I really do mean, EXACTLY 12.5kg. I had to buy a kitchen scale to verify each press of the coffee)Next, I activated the steamer wand. It built up to steam in about 15 seconds. I quickly switched off the steam, placed my milk steamer cup under the wand and activated the steam. When the wand is in the steam, the steam will be dispensed for exactly 15 seconds. No exceptions.I sent videos and questions to the customer service. They sent back a response stating that I was doing things incorrectly and I should follow the guidebook. The also included a video of one of their technicians using the steamer function. The video showed the individual doing the demonstration, stepping through the steaming process. I followed their instructions exactly. In the video, their demonstration machine steamed in the milk for 53 seconds before they manually stopped the steam and displayed the steamed milk.My machine will not dispense steam for more than 15 seconds under any circumstances. I turned on the steam and let it run without the milk, just steaming into the collection tray…15 seconds and then the alarm beeps sound and the lighted buttons flash.I placed the wand at the surface of the milk but not submerged… 15 seconds and alarm.I submerged the wand completely…15 seconds and alarm.I sent the attached video to them with a plea for additional help or replacement, functioning device and have not had any response.I have made 4 more attempts at contact to customer service and they have not even sent an email to indicate receipt.I told them I was going to leave a bad review if they did not help and indicated I would be contacting legal services for their non-functional device…no response of any kind. This is the review. I will be seeking legal advice on the next business day.The device does not work. Customer service will not help.DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER DEVICE FROM THIS MANUFACTURER!!!
