Here’s my experience with the ilavie espresso machine:Operation: When I went to prep it for use, I followed the instructions and.. nothing. The steam knob didn’t work either. I reseated the water tank and tried again. Then I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Still nothing. I was worried I would burn up the motor or something. Thinking I’d be packing it up for return, I left it on the counter overnight, unplugged. The next morning, boom! It worked and has worked perfect since.Sounds: It’s very quiet, much moreso than my last machine. It makes a beep when the water is heated, which I like. Lights on the front cycle through to remind you when the machine has been left too long.Size: It’s very compact which I like, and looks great on my counter. You may want to check the measurements to make sure it’s not too small for you. The water tank holds enough for 4, 2 cup servings with quite a bit left over. I just fill it every morning to be sure.Auto dispense: I didn’t think I’d like this, but it dispenses just the right amount for me. I always do 2 cup servings at a time and the crema is perfect for my less than professional needs.Filter holder: It works perfect with the 51mm spring loaded espresso tamper I already had. Also, it’s super easy to dump the grounds out. My last one was a big goopy mess every time. Not sure why.The filter holder was a little hard to turn at first, but after a few times, it loosened up.Steam nozzle: It works fine for me, though I don’t use it often.All in all, I’m super pleased with this machine and hope it lasts a long time.

Made espresso 3x and the machine pulls a great shot of espresso, however after each espresso shot the water container seemed to hold the water as expected. I’d come back later in the day and my entire counter would be flooded with the water from the container on the back of the machineHad to return, if this machine had not leaked I would have been satisfied with my purchase. I think that I just got a defective unit.

The features could be great, but when you try to make an espresso drink and the coffee comes out just like it would come from a percolator, no cream at all, you know it is not what you want or expect. As an avid espresso lover, I know exactly how a good espresso should be. I do not recommend this product.I had to return this machine…. Leaking even before starting to brew the coffee is something I have never seen in over 30 years using espresso machines.

These are not well made. Had to return mine because it required ten minutes of trial and “error” steam clearing between shots. “Error” in quotes because the real error was purchasing this. When it made a shot after several attempts it would be weak and watery with no real crema. Of course, half of the reviews here are just about a frothing pitcher so yeah a ton of effort seems to have gone into this listing . . .

Bought this product when the reviews were mostly good. Tried starting it up this morning and my experience is the same as the rest. The machine started smoking and the water is not going through the machine. Save yourself the money and trouble and look elsewhere.

I got this, took it out actually read the instructions word for word to set it up and it didn’t work. I have seen other reviews stating it didn’t work, but I figured they got a dud. Nope, it seems to be a major problem. Do not buy this product. You have been warned. I am going to return this hunk of junk tomorrow and get my money back. Im so disappointed because I’ve been wanting an expresso machine. I guess I’ll be buying a different one now.
